JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas is unlikely to make his season debut at Indianapolis on Sunday.

Thomas visited a hand specialist Tuesday, but did not get clearance to participate in a full practice or play. Thomas said Wednesday ''the good news is no bad news.''

So his injured hand is still healing and Thomas is still waiting.

Thomas, who signed a five-year, $46 million contract that included $24 million guaranteed in free agency, broke a bone in his right hand in the preseason opener Aug. 14. He had surgery Sept. 2 to repair ligament damage.

The tight end says people don't always understand how much work players put in ''to get 16 opportunities to show everything you put the time in for.'' He says missing things ''you work for and you look forward to, it's tough.''
