The Carolina Panthers have won their first three games. Now, they're acquiring a five-time Pro Bowl pass rusher.
The Chicago Bears agreed to trade defensive end Jared Allen to the Panthers, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reports.
The Bears paid Allen an $11.5 million roster bonus earlier this year. Allen doesn't have any money guaranteed beyond this season and is due less than $900K in base salary. It's a low-risk, high-reward proposition for the Panthers.
Defensive end Charles Johnson missed last week with a hamstring injury.
