Updated

Starts:

QB - Cam Newton, CAR

The Saints have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw four touchdown passes and total 514 yards without creating an interception in the first two games. In Week 2, Newton rushed for 76 yards and a score against the Texans defense. In his last game against the Saints (December 7th), Newton threw for 226 yards and three TDs while also rushing for 83 yards and another score.

Other notables: Nick Foles (STL), Russell Wilson (SEA), and Andrew Luck (IND)

RB - Devonta Freeman, ATL

With Tevin Coleman doubtful for Sunday's game, Freeman should play a much larger role in Atlanta's offense. Last week, Freeman scored a rushing TD and was targeted eight times in the passing game. Though Dallas stuffed DeMarco Murray last week, they allowed Rashad Jennings to score a TD in Week 1.

Other notables: LaGarrette Blount (NE), Giovani Bernard (CIN), and Melvin Gordon (SD)

WR - Allen Robinson, JAC

ARob made an immediate impact in last week's game as he scored twice before halftime. This week, his Jaguars travel to New England where the Patriots are the heavy favorites (-13.5). With the thought of Jacksonville trailing early in this contest, Blake Bortles will be forced to throw the ball downfield. That could equate to massive garbage time points for Mr. Robinson.

Other notables: Devante Adams (GB), Rishard Mattews (MIA), and Tyler Lockett (SEA)

TE - Jordan Reed, WAS

For the second straight week, Reed tallied at least six receptions in a game. Look for that streak to continue as Washington hosts the Giants on Thursday night. The NFC's New York squad has allowed three touchdowns this season to the opposing team's TE. Only Oakland and Pittsburgh have allowed four TDs, thus far.

Other notables: Kyle Rudolph (MIN), Jared Cook (STL), and Heath Miller (PIT)

D/ST - Houston Texans

Tampa Bay has allowed at least three sacks and two turnovers per contest in 2015. Houston will appreciate the bump, as they are only creating two sacks per game and have only one turnover in the first two games.

Other notables: Jets, Raiders, and Browns

Sits:

QB - Sam Bradford, PHI

The Jets secondary has been ruthless through two matchups. The AFC's New York has allowed a league-fewest 8.5 points per game. They are the only defense to average in the single digits. The next best is Carolina (13 ppg). So far, Bradford has thrown only two TDs and double the amount of INTs.

Others include: Matthew Stafford (DET), Eli Manning (NYG), and Colin Kaepernick (SF)

RB - Todd Gurley, STL

I am a big fan, and investor, of Gurley. However, this is not the time to start him. Look for the Rams to slowly debut their rookie running back in Week 3 and then add more of the workload throughout the season. Plus, Pittsburgh has yet to allow a rushing touchdown or more than 70 rushing yards to opposing RBs.

Others include: C.J. Spiller (NO), Ryan Mathews (PHI), and Doug Martin (TB)

WR - Amari Cooper, OAK

Two words: Joe. Haden. Sure, Brandon Marshall had a great game in Week 1 versus Cleveland. However, last week, Kendall Wright caught only two passes for 17 yards against the Browns. Also, with the game Michael Crabtree had last week (nine catches for 111 yards and a TD), Derek Carr might be looking elsewhere and not test the waters with the Pro Bowl cornerback.

Others include: Golden Tate (DET), Eddie Royal (CHI), and Charles Johnson (MIN)

TE - Delanie Walker, TEN

Even if Walker returns in Week 3, he should remain on your bench in fantasy football. The Colts might be 0-2, but opposing TEs aren't the ones benefitting. This season, Indianapolis has allowed four total receptions to opposing tight ends. None of them were for touchdowns.

Others include: Jacob Tamme (ATL), Vernon Davis (SF), and Zach Ertz (PHI)

D/ST - Arizona Cardinals

Even though San Francisco's offense is averaging only 19 points per game, opposing defenses aren't cashing in on the points, either. Colin Kaepernick has yet to throw an interception and they have yet to allow the opposing D/ST to score a TD in the first two games.

Others include: Rams, 49ers, and Chiefs
