Ever wonder what it feels like to be in the spikes of MVP candidate Bryce Harper? Well, now you can experience it for yourself -- without getting grass stains on your pants.

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Gatorade created a 360-degree virtual reality experience featuring the Washington Nationals star outfielder as he steps up to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the score tied.

The video, which is featured above, allows users to see from Harper's vantage point what it's like to be in the batter's box in a high-pressure situation (Hint: Use the arrows in the upper left-hand corner of the video to change the view however you like).

Gatorade brought the groundbreaking experience to a nearby RBI team in Maryland, where Harper then made their virtual reality an actual reality by surprising some of the players when they took off their virtual reality headset.

In conjunction with the release of the virtual reality experience, Gatorade also released a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the experience, which you'll find below.

Whether you're a fan of the 22-year-old superstar or not, it's pretty spectacular to see what can be done with technology these days.
