Rutgers star receiver Leonte Carroo has been suspended indefinitely after being involved in an incident outside the Scarlet Knights' stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey, following Saturday's game.

Coach Kyle Flood announced the suspension Sunday. He declined to give details of the incident, saying only it was under investigation.

The Scarlet Knights lost to Washington State 37-34 on Saturday. This season has started with numerous off-the-field troubles.

The university is investigating Flood for sending an impermissible email to a professor about a player's academic status. Rutgers has dismissed six players from the team after they were arrested in connection with a string of home invasions and an assault.

Carroo was also suspended for the first half of the first game of the season for a team violation.
