NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) Rutgers University officials say they do not expect an announcement after a closed-door Board of Governors meeting held amid the latest scandal to hit the school's sports program.

The Board of Governors began a closed session meeting late Friday morning with the stated intention of discussing ''athletics matters and anticipated or pending litigation.'' Only a handful of board members were there in person.

University spokesman Greg Trevor says the university would not put out a statement later.

The meeting comes shortly after six players were kicked off the university's football teams after their arrests.

The school is also probing whether football coach Kyle Flood improperly contacted a teacher about the grades of one of the players before he was arrested and kicked off the team.
