Houston starter Scott Feldman will miss the rest of the season with a sprained right shoulder.

Feldman left his Sept. 1 start against Seattle in the third inning with shoulder discomfort. Houston hoped he could return after missing a start, but after an MRI exam on Thursday general manager Jeff Luhnow decided he would be shut down for the year.

The AL West-leading Astros say he will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
