Tennessee's ground game got off to a great start in the opener against Bowling Green, as the Vols finished the game one yard shy of the 400-yard mark on the ground.
The Vols' three-headed monster of quarterback Joshua Dobbs and running backs Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara were responsible for the majority of the those yards, as it appears Tennessee may have the most dangerous backfield in the SEC this season. If Tennessee is going to make some noise in the league this year, they'll do so by grinding out tough rushing yards against some of the best defenses the nation has to offer.
Courtesy of VFL Films, fans have been offered a unique inside look into coach Gillespie's running back room as he prepped the team for the season opener. Gillespie's methods worked so well, Kamara set the rushing record for a running back's debut in the 119-year history of the Tennessee football program.
