BOSTON (AP) Designated hitter David Ortiz has been replaced by a pinch hitter in the fifth inning of Boston's game against Philadelphia.
There was no immediate word on why Ortiz left Sunday's game.
The 39-year-old slugger connected for a two-run shot against Jerad Eickhoff in the first, lifting the Red Sox to a 2-0 lead. It was his 200th homer at Fenway Park and No. 497 for his career overall.
