SAN DIEGO (AP) Calvin Munson returned two interceptions for touchdowns to lead San Diego State to a 37-3 victory over San Diego in the season opener for both teams on Saturday night.

Munson picked off Trey Wheeler on the Toreros' second play and returned it 19 yards for the score. He intercepted Anthony Lawrence and took it 67 yards into the end zone with 3:35 left. Damontae Kazee also had three interceptions for the Aztecs.

Donnel Pumphrey had a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Rashaad Penny scored on a 97-yard kickoff return to open the second half.

Donny Hageman kicked field goals of 33, 36 and 37 yards for the Aztecs.

Jack Flatau kicked a 23-yard field goal for the Toreros.

San Diego is a non-scholarship FCS school, so the win does not count toward San Diego State's potential bowl eligibility.
