NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) APOEL Nicosia hopes new coach Temur Ketsbaia can give the Cypriot club success in the Europa League after missing out on the Champions League.
The 47-year-old Georgian signed a two-year contract on Friday to replace Domingos Paciencia, whose four-month coaching stint ended after APOEL failed to reach the Champions League group stage.
Club spokesman Nektarios Petevinos told The Associated Press on Saturday that Ketsbaia is an ambitious coach whose familiarity with Cypriot football will give the team experienced leadership.
