EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Minnesota's Adrian Peterson will be on the sideline when the Vikings play in Dallas this weekend.
Peterson grew up rooting for the Cowboys as a kid in East Texas. But the team is being cautious with the franchise running back.
Several high-profile players have been hurt around the NFL this month in preseason games, so Peterson has no problem waiting a little longer to play.
The Vikings open the season Sept. 14 at San Francisco, 372 days after Peterson last played a game. He was held out of action last year while the child abuse case against him that involved his son played out in a court outside of Houston.
