The New Orleans Saints' wide receiving corps is a work in progress, but hit a snag during Saturday night's preseason game.

Wide receiver Nick Toon sustained a high-ankle sprain and is expected to be out 2-3 weeks, a source told FOXSports.com.

Toon, who was getting reps with the second team offense, left the field in the third quarter and was seen on the trainer's table, The Times Picayune's Evan Woodbery noted.

Through two preseason contests, Toon had two receptions for 11 yards.

Toon, a fourth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has played in 16 regular season games.
