Kyle Busch has been fast for much of the weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, but prior to Saturday night's Irwin Tools Night Race his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota was the last car to the starting grid.

Busch's car went through NASCAR technical inspection four times, each time having an issue with the rear camber that caused the car not to clear inspection.

As driver introductions were preparing to kick off, Busch's car finally cleared inspection the fifth time through and his crew members hurried to push the No. 18 machine out to the starting grid.

Crew chief Adam Stevens told FOXSports.com the team was not trying to push any limits, and said the team had not touched the rear camber since Busch qualified the car on Friday afternoon.

Stevens said the initial issue was with the right rear camber, with the left rear clearing without any problem. The right side did not pass the second time through, and when the right side cleared on the third trip through the inspection line, the left side had an issue -- despite the fact that the team did not adjust the left side camber. The team then had to work on the left side to make sure that would clear inspection, as well.

Under NASCAR protocol, Sprint Cup Series managing director Richard Buck will look at all of the information from the inspection process, and a decision likely will be made on Tuesday on any penalties for the No. 18 team.

Busch was able to retain his second-place starting position for Saturday night's race.
