PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks have placed starting pitcher JeremyHellickson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and recalled Chase Anderson.

Hellickson's injury forced him to leave his Monday start in the sixth inning. He was scheduled to make his next start on Saturday in Cincinnati.

Anderson had been optioned to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday after his third consecutive sub-par start, but Hellickson's injury enabled the team to recall him before the 10-day minimum.
