Arizona Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati will undergo surgery on his left knee, according to multiple reports, and according to at least one report will miss six to eight weeks.

Iupati reportedly injured the knee during Tuesday's practice. Coach Bruce Arians before Wednesday's practice said Iupati would be examined by a doctor to determine the extent of the problem. The Cardinals did not provide any further updates.

Losing Iupati for an extended time would be a major blow to an offensive line already without right tackle Bobby Massie, who is is appealing a three-game suspension after he was arrested for driving under the influence in January.

Ted Larsen, who started all 16 games at guard last year for the Cardinals, took over for Iupati in Wednesday's practice, according to multiple reports.

Iupati made the Pro Bowl three times in five years with the 49ers and this past offseason signed a five-year deal with the Cardinals worth an average of $8 million a season.
