The Chiefs will need to plug in a new player at left tackle for the next two weeks.

An MRI revealed franchise blocker Eric Fisher has a sprained left ankle, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. Fisher is likely to miss a couple weeks of practice as he heals, according to one source.

The news could've been worse on Fisher. The former No. 1 overall pick left Monday's practice and walked to a medical tent, but was carted to the training room.

Head coach Andy Reid will need to get creative at both his tackle spots now. Right tackle Jeff Allen suffered a sprained ankle in K.C.'s preseason opener last week.

Donald Stephenson could be Fisher's short-term replacement. The fourth-year pro subbed in at the spot on Tuesday, along with Jarrod Pughsley at right tackle.
