Playing quarterback for the first time in two years, Tim Tebow took the field as the Philadelphia Eagles' third-string quarterback on Sunday when the team opened their preseason against the Colts. Tebow got out to a hot start, but struggled to stay consistent throughout the game.

He finished with 34 total offensive snaps on the day. He went 6-of-12 for 69 yards passing on the day. Tebow also added 15 yards rushing, including a fourth quarter touchdown run on a read-option play.

Tebow's new throwing motion was on display, and when he had time, he delivered the ball accurately and with zip. However, Tebow still needs to speed up his delivery, and this is something we saw lead to missed passes and broken plays on Sunday.

Tebow will look to make a stronger impression during the team's second preseason game. He is locked into a battle with Matt Barkley for the team's third quarterback spot. Barkley had a very strong preseason opener, finishing with 192 passing yards, and this puts pressure on Tebow to take a step forward in the competition.
