Real Madrid have confirmed Sergio Ramos has agreed to sign a new contract that will keep him at the Bernabeu for the next five seasons.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United over the summer, with his previous deal set to expire in 2017.

However, Ramos has ended speculation by agreeing fresh terms over a fresh five-year contract with Los Blancos, and will sign the deal during a ceremony at the Bernabeu's honorary balcony on Monday afternoon.

"An event will be held in the Santiago Bernabeu's presidential box to mark Sergio Ramos' contract renewal," said a statement on the club's official website.

"Presiding over the event will be the Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, and the player himself, who will remain at the club for the next five seasons."
