It appears the Seahawks will have to wait to see whether Chris Matthews can carry over his Super Bowl XLIX performance on a consistent basis into 2015.

Matthews suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter of the Seahawks first preseason game vs. the Broncos.

Head coach Pete Carroll called it a sprain in the AC joint, and the team expects the wide receiver to be out anywhere from 10 to 14 days.

"He was playing like crazy too on special teams," Carroll said of Matthews. "He was really doing some great things."

With Matthews recovering from injury, perhaps this opens up more reps for rookie Tyler Lockett at wideout.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell noted earlier in training camp that Lockett could make an impact at the position because of his playmaking abilities.

He certainly showed that with his 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown vs. the Broncos.

Now Lockett could be in line for more opportunities to show what he can do.
