BEREA, Ohio (AP) Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor has returned to practice after missing more than a week of training camp with a hamstring injury.

Pryor, who is attempting to switch from NFL quarterback to receiver, says he is confident he can make Cleveland's roster despite being sidelined. The former Oakland QB believes he showed the Browns his playmaking ability and intends to pick up where he left off before getting hurt.

Although he wasn't on the field, Pryor said he stayed mentally sharp while he was out. Pryor also said the time off helped get strength back in his legs.

Coach Mike Pettine made it clear that the Browns have not guaranteed Pryor a spot on their 53-man roster and that he's going to have to earn one.

Pryor missed Cleveland's exhibition opener but is expected to play Thursday night when the Browns host the Buffalo Bills.
