SEATTLE (AP) Mariners' right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma has not allowed a hit to the Baltimore Orioles through six innings on Wednesday.
Iwakuma has struck out six, and he issued a pair of walks in the fourth inning. Iwakuma escaped that jam with a two-out strikeout of Jimmy Paredes. Iwakuma also got help from second baseman Robinson Cano in that inning, chasing down Gerardo Parra's groundball in short right field and throwing him out at first.
Adam Jones hit a deep flyball to center field leading off the seventh but Austin Jackson tracked it down on the warning track.
He has thrown 90 pitches.
Seattle leads 3-0.
