After the brawl heard 'round the world, it's obvious that everyone now has to hear about the type of player and competitor that Cam Newton is. According to David Newton of ESPN though, backup quarterback Derek Anderson was quick to come to Newton's defense.

"All my buddies ask me all the time, 'How is he? How is he?'" Carolina's backup quarterback told ESPN. "Because sometimes people beat on him. He's not always portrayed as a nice guy in the media even though he does have a good smile and some people love him."

"They always ask me, 'Is he a good dude?' He really is." Anderson finished.

Anderson and Newton seem to have one of the best relationships starter/backup relationships in the league. These two can constantly be seen celebrating touchdowns on the sidelines and cheering each other on, regardless of who's playing.
