Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was at the receiving end of some boos from his hometown fans during last month's celebrity softball game during Major League Baseball's All-Star Week, but heard plenty of applause, especially after a pair of home runs.
Dalton discussed the incident during his first session with reporters at training camp on Friday.
"They didn't boo when I hit my two home runs," Dalton said via the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I think I heard lots of cheers. I think that whole thing, it wasn't everybody. I think if you look at a video or two it makes it seem like it's more than it was.

"There's a lot of loyal fans, a lot of people that have backed me and have supported me. That's all I've heard. So it's unfortunate that was the reaction, initially, but after hitting a couple home runs it was a lot of cheers."
Dalton has heard his share of boos in Paul Brown Stadium, especially in big games. We'll see if he can reverse the crowd reaction like he did on the softball diamond.
