TOKYO (AP) Brazilian midfielder Douglas scored two goals as Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat Vissel Kobe 4-0 Wednesday to widen its lead in the J-League standings.
Hisato Sato set up Douglas in the 15th minute and then scored himself 10 minutes later to move within two goals of equaling the league record of 157 held by Masashi Nakayama.
Gakuto Notsuda scored a penalty pick just before the break and Douglas completed the scoring midway through the second half with his 11th goal of the season.
Hiroshima improved to 15 points, five ahead of Nagoya Grampus, Kawasaki Frontale and Kashima Antlers.
Nagoya, which leads on goal difference, beat Montedio Yamagata 3-0. Kawasaki Frontale defeated Matsumoto Yamaga 3-1, and Kashima Antlers overpowered Sagan Tosu 3-0.
Ryochi Maeda scored twice as FC Tokyo bealt Vegalta Sendai 3-1.
