As the trade deadline draws nearer, interest in Philadelphia Phillies left-handed ace Cole Hamels is only burgeoning.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers continue to actively pursue Hamels, reports released Tuesday suggest that a pair of NL West teams in addition to the Dodgers have expressed interest in the 31-year-old lefty.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the Arizona Diamondbacks have reached out to the Phillies in regard to Hamels, and a report from the New York Post suggests that the San Francisco Giants have also expressed interest in him.

While Arizona would be an unlikely destination for Hamels, considering that it is on his no-trade list, the World Series champion Giants might be a legitimate late contender to land Hamels.

"Remember: The Giants were in the bidding until the end on Jon Lester this past offseason," the New York Post report reads, "so they are one of the few in the majors that can afford to take on a big salary."

The Giants' championship pedigree, having won three World Series titles in the last five years, would certainly add appeal for Hamels.
