As the Florida Gators continue the transition into the Jim McElwain era, their typically stingy defense will have to continue on without defensive tackle Jaynard Bostick this season, according to 247Sports.

Bostick, who has not been participating with the team since the end of the 2014 season, has asked for and received his release papers by the school.

The defensive tackle redshirted in 2013 and played in limited duty last season for the Gators.
