Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday due to left mid-back inflammation.
Van Slyke has batted .264 with 14 RBI and two home runs in 34 games this season, his fourth with the Dodgers.
Outfielder Chris Heisey was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Van Slyke's spot on the active roster and pitcher Ian Thomas was also called up to be the 26th man for the team's doubleheader in Colorado.
