Naples, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Lazio claimed the final Champions League place in Serie A on Sunday as the capital club closed its domestic campaign with a 4-2 win over Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo.

Lazio came into the season's final match with a three-point lead over fourth- place Napoli needing at least a draw to earn a qualification spot in Europe's most prestigious club competition next season.

Napoli, meanwhile, needed to beat Lazio and makeup a five-goal gap in goal differential in manager Rafael Benitez's final game in charge in order to claim third place.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through a goal from Marco Parolo and doubled the advantage on the stroke of halftime through Antonio Candreva.

Gonzalo Higuain pulled one back for Napoli in the 55th minute and scored a second goal in the 64th after Parolo was shown a second yellow card.

But Ogenyi Onazi put Lazio back in front five minutes from time and German World Cup winner Miroslav Klose added the insurance tally in stoppage time to secure the result for Lazio.

Also in Serie A on the final day of the season, Cagliari claimed a wild 4-3 victory over Udinese, while Palermo toppled second-place finishers Roma by a 2-1 score line.

Fiorentina rolled to a 3-0 rout of Chievo, Mauro Icardi netted a brace to lead Inter Milan to a 4-3 win over Empoli and Sampdoria earned a point in a 2-2 draw against Parma.

Sassuolo closed its season with a 3-1 result over Genoa thanks to a brace from Simone Zaza, while Torino rolled to a 5-0 thrashing of Cesena.
