St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals activated outfielder Jon Jay from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Jay last played on May 10th and landed on the DL due to left wrist tendinitis. The 30-year-old was batting .248 with six RBI prior to his injury in 30 games this season, his sixth with the Cardinals.
In a corresponding move, St. Louis optioned pitcher Miguel Socolovich to Triple-A Memphis.
