Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Noah Syndergaard did it on the mound and at the plate, helping the New York Mets to a 7-0 win and another three-game series sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field on Wednesday.

Syndergaard (2-2) tossed 7 1/3 innings of six-hit ball and went 3-for-3 with a solo homer. The right-hander, making just his fourth career start, struck out six and didn't walk a batter as the Mets swept the Phillies at home for the second time this season.

"It's great being able to go that deep into the game and give the bullpen a little rest," said Syndergaard. "It's really easy to go out there and throw quality strikes when you put seven runs on the board."

Syndergaard's fabulous afternoon overshadowed a tremendous day by players who get paid to hit for the Mets. Lucas Duda hit a pair of solo homers, going 3- for-4 with three runs scored, and Michael Cuddyer added a two-run homer.

Daniel Murphy also had three hits, drove in a run and scored a run for New York, which improved to 20-6 at home this season, going 6-0 against the Phillies over that span. The Mets also improved to 8-1 against Philadelphia this season.

Grady Sizemore and Ben Revere had two hits each for Philadelphia, which has lost four in a row and six of seven.

Sean O'Sullivan (1-4) started on the mound for the Phillies and suffered the loss, allowing seven runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked one.

Duda got the Mets going in the first with a solo homer. In the third, Duda doubled and scored on Murphy's base hit and Cuddyer followed with a two-run homer for a 4-0 lead.

Syndergaard then helped his cause in the fourth, hitting a homer over the wall in left-center for a five-run lead. He had earlier singled.

"Home runs hurt us throughout the series," said Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg. "Syndergaard was a one-man show today with the bat and his impressive pitching."

Duda added his second homer of the game in the fifth for a 6-0 edge and Curtis Granderson's sac fly in the sixth plated Danny Muno for a seven-run lead.
