St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Mariners activated center fielder Austin Jackson from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Jackson hasn't played for the Mariners since spraining his right ankle in Houston on May 3. He was trying to beat out a grounder and stepped on the foot of Astros pitcher Roberto Hernandez, who was covering first base.

In 25 games this season, Jackson is batting .242 with two homers and four RBI.

The Mariners opened a roster spot for Jackson by optioning struggling right- handed reliever Danny Farquhar to Triple-A Tacoma following Monday's 4-1 win at Tampa Bay.

Farquhar was 0-3 with a 6.46 ERA in 20 outings this season. He allowed 19 runs in 23 2/3 innings after giving up 23 runs in 71 innings last year.
