Strasbourg, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Former U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur and French crowd favorite Kristina Mladenovic will battle in Saturday's final at the Strasbourg International, a final clay-court French Open tune-up.

The third-seeded Aussie Stosur held off American Sloane Stephens 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, while Mladenovic was leading fellow Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano 6-3, 1-2 when the wild car Razzano retired on Day 6 at Strasbourg Tennis Club.

The 31-year-old Stosur is 2-0 lifetime against the 5-foot-11 Mladenovic.

Stosur is 6-14 in her career WTA finals, with her last title coming in Osaka last year. She was a surprise U.S. Open champ in 2011.

The 22-year-old Mladenovic will compete in her first-ever WTA final.

Saturday's winner will claim $38,500.
