Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Randal Grichuk went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 10-2 win over the New York Mets.

Mark Reynolds homered among his three hits and Kolten Wong had two RBI for St. Louis, which bounced back from a 14-inning loss in the series opener on Monday night.

Michael Wacha (6-0) remained unbeaten after he scattered four hits and allowed two runs with five strikeouts over seven innings.

"I was pretty happy," Wacha said. "Our guys were playing great defense behind me and then our offense just exploded."

Daniel Murphy was the only Met to hurt Wacha, smacking a home run in the fourth to account for New York's offense.

Jon Niese (3-4) was roughed up for eight runs on 11 hits over five innings in the loss.

"I thought in the bullpen I was pretty good," Niese said. "When I got out there today I just didn't seem to find it."

The Cardinals wasted little time getting on the board, scoring a run in each of the first four innings. Peter Bourjos led off the game with a single to left and scored on Grichuk's double in the following at-bat.

St. Louis then had men on the corners in the second for Wacha, who laid down a textbook safety squeeze that plated Wong. Grichuk opened the third inning with a triple and Jhonny Peralta made it 3-0 with his single two batters later.

Reynolds then cracked his third homer of the season to begin the fourth.

The Mets got to Wacha in the home fourth when Murphy went deep for a two-run homer that cut their deficit to 4-2.

After a scoreless fifth inning, the Cardinals responded and put the game away with a six-run sixth.

Wong laced a double with the bases loaded and no outs that brought home two and started the surge. Bourjos singled home a run, Grichuk knocked in two with a double and Matt Holliday added a sacrifice fly.
