Minjee Lee wins Kingsmill Championship

Williamsburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Minjee Lee closed out a 2-stroke win Monday morning at the Kingsmill Championship.

Lee stumbled to a bogey at the 16th, but parred the final two holes for a 6- under 65. She finished her first LPGA Tour title at 16-under-par 269.

"Well, I 3-putted the 16th, and I was like, ugh, let's just make two pars and get out of here," Lee said. "I was a little bit nervous, but I'm glad I could get the win."

So Yeon Ryu birdied three in a row when play resumed Monday morning to close out a 4-under 67. She ended alone in second place at minus-13.

Alison Lee bogeyed the last for a 2-under 69 and a third-place finish at 12- under-par 272. Third-round leader Perrine Delacour managed an even-par 71 and grabbed fourth at 11-under 273.

Suzann Pettersen (68), Paula Creamer (70) and Hyo Joo Kim (68) shared fifth place at minus-10.

There was a weather delay that lasted two hours, four minutes on Sunday, which forced the completion of the final round into Monday.

Minjee Lee had a birdie putt from the fringe on the 16th when she returned to the River Course at Kingsmill Resort & Spa Monday morning. She 3-putted for bogey to dip to minus-15.

Lee 2-putted for par on the final two holes, then had to wait to see if anyone could catch her.

Ryu started on the 15th when play resumed and she poured in three straight birdies to jump to minus-13. She parred the last to end alone in second place.

Alison Lee rolled in a 9-footer for birdie at the 15th to move within two of the lead at minus-13. She parred the next two holes and needed an eagle at the last to possibly force a playoff.

Lee's drive nearly found the water left of the fairway. When her second went well right, Minjee Lee was the winner. Alison Lee scrambled to a closing bogey to end three back.

The Monday finish forced Alison Lee to miss a U.S. Women's Open qualifier in the Richmond area.

"I changed my flight to today. I'm flying in to California tonight. There's a qualifier in California tomorrow, so we're working with the USGA to see if I can try and qualify there," Alison Lee explained.

NOTES: Minjee Lee earned $195,000 for the victory ... After a week off, the LPGA Tour heads to New Jersey for the ShopRite LPGA Classic, where Stacy Lewis won last year.
