Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Martinez pitched five innings of one- run ball to lead the Texas Rangers to a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Indians in the finale of a three-game set.
Martinez (3-0) gave up five hits and five walks while striking out six. Mitch Moreland hit a two-run home run for the Rangers, who snapped a three-game skid.
Carlos Carrasco (4-4) allowed five runs on seven hits over an eight-inning complete game for the Indians, who had won three of four coming in.
"You come up in spots and you either get it done or you don't," said Cleveland outfielder Nick Swisher. "Today we didn't get it done, but that's the good thing about baseball, you don't have to wait long to get a chance to turn it around."
The Rangers went on top in the second as Adrian Beltre led off with a single and scored on Moreland's double to right. They added another run in the third on Prince Fielder's RBI single.
Cleveland got one back in the fifth on an RBI double from Michael Brantley, but Moreland smacked his two-run homer in the sixth, his second of the year, for a 4-1 lead.
"I got into a good situation and was waiting for something up in the zone that I could hit," said Moreland. "I got a fastball that was out and over the plate and I stayed with it."
Beltre hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to give the Rangers a 5-1 lead, and Shawn Tolleson worked a scoreless ninth inning to close out the victory.

Texas plays three in Boston starting on Tuesday ... Cleveland starts a four- game set in Chicago against the White Sox on Monday ... Cleveland left 10 men on base as the team was 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
