Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans waived safety D.J. Swearinger on Monday.
The Texans had reportedly been trying to trade Swearinger since before the draft.
Swearinger was a second-round pick in 2013. The South Carolina product recorded 144 tackles, one sack and three interceptions over two seasons with the Texans.
