New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday.
Harper mashed six homers and drove in 12 runs in a three-game span last week. He batted .455 (10-for-22) with 13 RBI and had a 1.318 slugging percentage in six games overall.
Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman, Cincinnati outfielder Marlon Byrd and Chicago first baseman Anthony Rizzo were also considered for the award.
