One hole was all it took for Tiger Woods to turn a reasonable round into his worst 72-hole position at The Players Championship.

Woods put a 7 on his scorecard for the third time this week — a triple bogey on the 14th hole — that erased three birdies and led to a closing 72 Sunday at the TPC Sawgrass. Only three other players had a worse score over four rounds. He was in a tie for 69th, and would not move much higher.

Woods called it a mixed bag of good shots and bad ones. He says he is making progress, but the Stadium Course exposes mistakes.

Meanwhile, he will slip in the world ranking again because The Players awards points only to the top 60.
