Hidalgo, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - WBA bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell retained his title with a close 12-round unanimous decision over Japan's Tomoki Kameda.

All three judges scored the fight 114-113 for McDonnell (26-2-1, 12 KOs), who managed to win despite being sent to the canvas in the third round. The English native, who was coming off a TKO win over Javier Nicolas Chacon in November, took Kameda's (31-1, 19 KOs) WBO belt.

Kameda disagreed with the decisions of the judges after the fight, saying he thought he enough to win.
