Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that pitcher Tim Stauffer was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a right intercostal strain.
Stauffer, who had been signed to a one-year, $2.2 million contract in late December, has gone 1-0 with an 8.38 earned-run average in eight appearances this season, his first in Minnesota.
The right-hander went 6-2 with a 3.50 ERA over 44 games (three starts) last season with the Padres.
To fill the roster spot, the Twins recalled pitcher Ryan Pressly from Triple-A Rochester.
