Estoril, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Dutchman Robin Haase upset top seed Feliciano Lopez of Spain in Wednesday's second-round action at the inaugural Estoril Open tennis tournament.

Haase saved two match points and came from behind to surprise Lopez 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 on the red clay at Estoril Tennis Club.

"It's always nice to win, but if it's a win like that, to beat someone who is world No. 12, it's an even better feeling," said Haase. "I'm just happy with the way I won the match... It's been a long time since I've won a match with match points down, so it's a very nice feeling."

A milder upset came when unseeded former top-10 Spaniard Nicolas Almagro doused fourth-seeded Argentine Leonardo Mayer 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Also on Day 3, fifth-seeded Frenchman Richard Gasquet handled qualifier fellow countryman Kenny De Schepper 6-2, 6-3 and the nightcap saw seventh-seeded rising Aussie Nick Kyrgios erase Serb Filip Krajinovic 6-3, 6-3. Up next for Gasquet will be Almagro, while Kyrgios' quarterfinal opponent will be Haase.

In some more second-round action on Thursday, second-seeded South African Kevin Anderson will face last week's Bucharest champion Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain and third-seeded Spaniard Tommy Robredo will be opposed by his compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta.
