(SportsNetwork.com) - Derek Carr showed some signs as a rookie quarterback in Oakland last season but he will certainly need more help outside the numbers if he is to improve during his sophomore season.

Receiver makes a lot of sense for the Raiders at the No. 4 overall pick with the decision coming down to Alabama's Amari Cooper or West Virginia's Kevin White. Taking the so-called ceiling (White) over playing it safe (Cooper) seems like a very Raider-ish thing to do. White has the size and speed advantage but isn't as polished as Alabama's Cooper.

Others needs for Oakland are cornerback as the disastrous D.J. Hayden in 2013 hasn't panned out as well as running back.
