Hannover, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Hannover fired manager Tayfun Korkut on Monday, two days after his team's latest setback, a 4-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Korkut took charge at Hannover in December 2013 and helped the side to a 10th- place finish, but his team has managed just seven wins in 29 Bundesliga matches this term.

The defeat to Leverkusen over the weekend extended Hannover's winless streak to 13 games, and the result leaves the club in 15th place, just two points above the relegation playoff spot.

Hannover has yet to announce a replacement, but the final five games of the campaign will be challenging for whomever takes over with the club facing four sides currently in the top eight.
