New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday.
Cabrera batted .520 with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI in helping the Tigers begin the season with six straight wins for the first time in 30 years.
He led the league in total bases (21), hits (13) and on-base percentage (.586).
