Dodgers' Gonzalez named NL player of the week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday.

Gonzalez led the majors with five home runs and a .609 batting average (14- for-23) during the opening week of the season.

He also scored an NL-best eight runs and totaled with seven RBI in the Dodgers' first six games.
