Charleston, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Charleston Southern University officials announced Monday that artificial turf will be installed at Buccaneer Field for the 2015 football season.

Installation is scheduled to begin in May. The design will feature CSU's athletic logo at midfield and a navy background in the end zones with "BUCS" in large, gold lettering.

Another project already is underway at the stadium, "Buccaneer Plaza," which will add a new entryway, wrought-iron fencing, ticket booths and landscaping.

"With the addition of the stadium entrance and the new playing surface, our university is making a commitment to athletic success," third-year coach Jamey Chadwell said. "These additions add to the momentum created over the last two years by our team's success. They will enhance the game day experience for our fans, and allow our team to compete on a state-of-the-art playing surface. We can show future Buccaneers we are committed to being a consistent, Top 20 program and our facility upgrades point to that."

APT will both provide and install the new turf.

Charleston Southern will play five home games this season. The Buccaneers enjoyed some record home crowds while going 18-7 in Chadwell's first two seasons.
