Klopp begins Dortmund farewell against Paderborn

Dortmund, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp announced earlier this week that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Now, his side must focus on the visit of relegation-battling Paderborn to Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

Klopp's final season at Dortmund has been one filled with disappointment as the team enters the weekend in 10th place in the Bundesliga.

But despite the many struggles at Dortmund this term, the club still has a chance to reach European play next season with a strong finish.

Sixth-place Augsburg currently occupies the final Europa League place and is six points clear of Dortmund with six games to play, giving Klopp's team a target the rest of the way.

Dortmund is still involved in the German Cup and will face Bayern Munich in the semifinal round of the competition, but the team will want to send Klopp out in the best way possible to end his seven-year tenure, which includes two league titles.

Paderborn revived its survival hopes with a win over Augsburg last weekend to move to within two points of safety, so the visitors don't figure to make life easy on Klopp's side.

Hamburg slipped to the bottom of the league last weekend and will be using a fourth manager this season when the team visits Werder Bremen on Sunday.

Mirko Slomka, Josef Zinnbauer and Peter Knabel have each held the reigns at Hamburg this season, and Bruno Labbadia will become the fourth man when he takes charge on Sunday.

Bremen is four points out of a place in Europe so the hosts will have plenty of motivation as well.

Stuttgart moved off the bottom of the league last weekend following a win over Werder Bremen and the club attempts to make it two straight victories with a trip to Augsburg, which is attempting to keep hold of a European place.

At the other end of the table, Bayern Munich aims to bounce back from a Champions League defeat at FC Porto when the team visits Hoffenheim, while second-place Wolfsburg lost in the Europa League on Thursday and attempts to respond with a win at home against Schalke.

Bayern enters the weekend 10 points clear of Wolfsburg, while third-place Monchengladbach was in action on Friday but was held to a 0-0 draw at Eintracht, leaving the team only three points clear of fourth-place Bayer Leverkusen, which hosts Hannover.

Also this weekend Mainz invades Freiburg and Cologne travels to Hertha Berlin.
