Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Edmonton Oilers added depth and scoring punch from the college ranks on Monday, signing defenseman Joey LaLeggia to a two-year, entry-level contract.

LaLeggia, voted the National Collegiate Hockey Conference player of the year and named one of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, ended his senior season for the University of Denver with 15 goals and 25 assists in 37 games.

The Pioneers topped Boston College before losing to Providence in the East Regional final.

The 22-year-old native of greater Vancouver departs campus having posted double-digit goals in each of his four seasons, totaling 49 scores and 83 assists over 156 appearances.
