New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll was suspended three games, without pay, by the NHL on Thursday for an illegal check to the head.

Boll delivered the illegal hit to the head of Anaheim forward Patrick Maroon during the second period of Tuesday's game in Columbus.

Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Boll will forfeit $27,419.34. The money goes to the players' emergency assistance fund.
